With Pedro Theye as the lead architect, Elegant Design has more than 25 years experience specializing in resort design throughout the world with a focus on island architecture. Prominent buildings in the Cayman Islands include Indigo Bay, 19 North, Silver Reef, Little Cayman Beach Resort renovation, Villa Royale, Margaritaville renovation and many more commercial buildings and residential villas.

Architecture & Balance - Balance may be the most desirable commodity in the new millennium. For architects it is an essential element in creating bold and useful designs. We believe it is the role of the architect to simplify the complexity of the design process for the client and reduce the risks involved in development. This is accomplished by avoiding issues before and during construction while maximizing the aesthetic potential and implementing the latest sustainable building materials and methods."

We focus on creating the wow factor within the brand standards and budget while understanding the challenges of building during low season and the effects on ADR.

Pedro Theye

Principal Architect

Since 1992, Pedro has worked on the design of resort and residential projects, including the operations and construction/development. The experience of working closely with developers and large facility operations gives him an unique insight.

Previously Pedro was the in-house architect for Wyndham Vacation Resorts, Asia Pacific where he completed three new resort design and builds along with various hotel renovations in Fiji, New Zealand, Australia. Pedro has also done master plans in Vietnam, throughout the Caribbean and USA.

Suzanne Stewart

Principal Interior Designer and Procurement Manager

A native Australian, Suzanne has worked on projects throughout the Caribbean, South Florida and Australia with a recent concentration on resort and restaurant projects, as well as residential.

Also assists clients with scheduling and procurement of FF&E when meeting tight budgets and timelines.

Ronald J. Migoya

Senior Architect

Ron has an outstanding reputation managing all stages of the design and construction process. He is experienced with luxury residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality projects.

Ron's core skills embrace knowledge in Technical & Creative Problem Solving, Pre-Bid Planning & Constructability review, Documentation, Strategic Planning, Construction Administration, Stakeholder Management. Quality, Budgeting, and Schedule target monitoring.

Wilfredo Gonzalez

Senior Architectural Project Manager

Wilfredo Gonzalez is a bilingual graduated from the University of Milwaukee Wisconsin, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, with a degree in Architecture. Wilfredo has 16+ years in the architectural/construction field, with solid designing/drafting skills, ranging from residential to commercial projects. His professional career has given him a genuine understanding of the value for customer service and management, as well as an innovative approach to design and advanced technical capabilities in 2D/3Dimensional computer aided software.

Prof. Rafael Fornes

Master Planning and Studies

Professor Fornes is an expert in creating initial conceptual designs.

As a Professor at the University of Miami School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Rafael continues to explore cutting edge solutions for projects of all sizes.
